2007-2009 TRID Board Members

Leah A. Noe, President

I am Leah A. Noe and I’m currently serving as President of TRID for the 2007-2009 term.  I have twenty years of interpreting experience in a variety of settings, both community and educational, and a degree in interpreting from the University of New Hampshire.  I’ve taught sign language classes for continuing education programs and community colleges, including Fayetteville Technical Community College.  I began interpreting in New Hampshire then Ohio, but I now call Fayetteville, North Carolina my permanent home.  I’ve been a member of NCRID and NCEditor since 1998 when I moved to this state, and since that year, I’ve served on the Boards of NCEditor as Secretary and Treasurer and TRID as Vice President.  I am pleased and proud to now be serving you in the role of TRID President.

Hello! Welcome back old members & thanks for joining the team new members! My name is Josee' Hupp, I am currently serving as your TRID Vice President.  I am a first timer at this and I honestly feel awed and honored to serve with the others on the board and for a group as wonderful as the Interpreters of Raleigh, Durham and Fayetteville!  I have over ten years experience in interpreting, and have enjoyed every minute of it! The heart of my interpreting career has been educational interpreting, and even though I accept freelance assignments of any kind, I will ALWAYS accept the educational assignment when given the choice.  In 2003 I started my own agency, it has been a wildly satisfying experience, and one that I have not regretted for one minute!  I look forward to meeting and learning from everyone of you!

Hello, Triangle RID!  My name is Janet Beattie; I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you as TRID Board Member-at-Large!  I'm the new kid in the group, having moved to North Carolina in August of '05.  Prior to that, I worked as Coordinator of Interpreting Services at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.  In addition, I've volunteered with the Indiana Chapter of RID in various roles, including two terms as Board Secretary.  Currently, I interpret in private practice.  My husband and I live in Fayetteville with our two Siberian Huskies.  I look forward to meeting you; please do feel free to contact me!

Hello TRID!  My name is Rebecca Cleary and I am currently serving as a board member-at-large.  My interest in ASL and the Deaf Community has led me to find my "niche" in life.  While I enjoy community and educational interpreting, my heart is that of a classroom teacher.  I currently work as a teacher for the Deaf in Cumberland County Schools.  I teach 10 wonderful students at a local middle school and love every minute of it.  I am so excited about all that TRID has to offer and the bright future of the interpreting profession--it can only mean good things for my students!
